Eligibility & How to Apply

We are currently planning the ISS 2021! Please check our website at the beginning of January 2021 for updated information. You can also follow us on Twitter or Facebook for announcements.

To be eligible to apply for the ISS you need to have been successfully studying a life sciences related subject at university for a minimum of three years by the time of the ISS. Students currently studying for a Master's degree can also apply. Since the programme has a strong hands-on focus, you should have previous research experience.

The ISS is an international programme and applications are encouraged from students from all over the world. However, due to funding restrictions, German students or students studying in Germany at the time of the ISS are not eligible for consideration.

The international nature of the ISS means that the entire programme is held in English, so you need to be able to communicate in this language.

Application process

Before you apply, please carefully read our FAQ section.

Please note that the ISS 2020 has been cancelled and we don't accept applications any longer. We will inform applicants of this decision and will announce the new dates of the ISS 2021 on this page when new dates are decided.
