Eligibility & How to Apply

We are currently planning the ISS 2022! We will open the call in early 2022. You can also follow us on Twitter or Facebook for announcements.

To be eligible to apply for the ISS you need to have been successfully studying a life sciences related subject at university for a minimum of three years by the time of the ISS. Students currently studying for a Master's degree can also apply. Since the programme has a strong hands-on focus, you should have previous research experience.

The ISS is an international programme and applications are encouraged from students from all over the world. However, due to funding restrictions, German students or students studying in Germany at the time of the ISS are not eligible for consideration. If you are in between your studies and you are living in Germany at the time of the ISS, you are also not eligible.

The international nature of the ISS means that the entire programme is held in English, so you need to be able to communicate in this language.
