Apply to the IPP

Are you thinking about applying to the IPP? We recruit PhD students exclusively via IPP calls in summer and in winter. 
This summer, we are recruiting in two parallel calls, one for projects in Molecular Mechanisms in Genome Stability & Gene Regulation and one for projects in Molecular Biomedicine

You can find an overview about our recruitment procedure and a summary of the most important dates below.

  • Application deadline is on 17 April 12:00 noon (CEST)
  • Pre-selected applicants will be invited to online pre-interviews taking place between end of April and beginning of May
  • Shortlisted applicants will be invited to onsite Interview Days at IMB in Mainz, which will be held 1-3 July 2024
  • Successful applicants will start their PhD studies between August 2024 and January 2025.

Eligibility Criteria

To apply to the IPP you must provide the following:

  • Fully completed application form submitted before the relevant deadline

  • A Master degree or equivalent (1st Class BA Hons or BSc Hons) or anticipate receiving before enrolment

  • Full details of two referees, at least one of them should have supervised you in a research project

  • High level of both spoken and written English

How to Apply

 

We want to attract the brightest, most creative and ambitious students in the field of life sciences from all over the world and we receive around 500 applications each call.
During an ongoing call, you need to take the following steps to be admitted to the IPP.

 

Step 1: Have a look at the Projects Offered in the call you are interested in (either Molecular Mechanisms or Molecular Biomedicine). 
             You may also apply to both if you are interested in projects in both calls. 

Step 2: Apply via our online platform on Registration & Application.

Step 3: After thorough evaluation of all completed applications, the best candidates will receive an invitation for the IPP Interview Days.
