Birgit Adam, Science and Corporate Communication, Max Planck Society, Munich

Birgit Adam is currently doing her PhD at the Max Planck Institute for Marine Microbiology. Setting up a close knit network of alumni and junior scientists is part of her daytime work as well as producing innovative image clips for the company's own YouTube channel.

Dr Goran Martic, Multi-project Manager, TRON – Translational Oncology Medical Center, Mainz University

Goran Martic is currently working as a Project and Cooperation Manager at TRON and is responsible for budget, timeline and milestone management across mutliple projects. He has many years of experience Managing national government funded Projects and international cooperation projects with academia, biotech and pharma companies. He studied Biology at the Ludwig Maximilians University of Munich, did his PhD in Greece/NIMR, Londong and his Post-Dco in Boston, U.S. His scientific Background is in molecular biology, molecular immunology and biochemistry.

 

 

 

Dr Dirk Mentzer, Head of Pharmacovigilance at the German national agency for Vaccine and biomedicinal products, Paul-Ehrlich-Institute, Langen

Dirk Mentzer has a long standing experience as a medical doctor in both Germany and the UK after obtaining his medical licence at the Johann-Wolfgang-Goethe University, Frankfurt. 1991 to 2003 Mentzer also took part in specialist pediatric training followed by an appointment as Lead Consultant in general paediatric.

Dr Gabriele Rauch, Director Sales & Marketing, Indivumed GmbH, Hamburg

Gabriele Rauch holds a PhD in Molecular Biology from the University Witten, Germany. In her function as Director she is responsible for Europe-wide product marketing and distribution and heading the customer service of Indivumed GmbH.

Dr Julia Rose, Head of Clinical Operations, R&D Pharmaceuticals Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica GmbH

Julia Rose graduated with an University degree in Biology from the University of Mainz in 2004. Continuing her education in Mainz, a Phd at the Institute of Toxicology followed. In 2012 she joined Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica GmbH as Clinical Trial Monitor and was subsequently appointed Head of Clinical Operations.

Kaja Rosenbaum, Editor Biosciences, Book Acquisition Springer Spektrum, Heidelberg

After obtaining her Master of Science in Molecular Biosciences at the Ruprecht-Karls-University Heidelberg in 2011, Kaja Rosenbaum worked as an intern and trainee at Springer Spektrum, division book acquisition. Here she took over the position of Editor of Biosciences in 2013.

Dr Georg Terstappen, Director and Head of Biology, Neuroscience Discovery, AbbVie, Ludwigshafen

Georg Terstappen conducted research at the Max-Planck-Institute in Cologne and the Federal Research Centre Juelich for which he received his PhD in Biochemistry. Prior to joining AbbVie in January 2011, he was Chief Scientific Officer of Siena Biotech, a company he co-initiated in 2002. In addition to his current position at Abbvie he is also an adjunct Professor of Biotechnology at the University of Applied Sciences in Mannheim.

Dr Ruth Wagner, Line Manager High-Throughput Screening, Octapharma Biopharmaceuticals GmbH, Heidelberg

Ruth Wagner did her Phd and PostDoc at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg. A postition as scientist analyst at Octapharma Biopharmaceuticals followed her education and since 2013 she is the heading Line Manager of High Throughput Screening at Octapharma Biopharmaceuticals.
